Made-in-Nigeria mobile phones to hit markets soon
Nigerians will be treated to two new locally-manufactured mobile phone brands before December.
The President of the Phone and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (PAPDAN), Mr. Godfrey Nwosu, disclosed this in Lagos on Wednesday.
Nwosu said that the proposed phones, iQ and MaxTel, resulted from a partnership involving 20 Nigerian investors.
'The two new phone brands would be called iQ and MaxTel,' he said.
Nwosu said PAPDAN had identified a growing appetite for cutting-edge technologies among telecoms consumers.
'The two Nigerian brands would cater to three market segments: feature, medium and smart phone segments,' he said.
